The protestors from the Yogyakarta chapters of the Ukhuwah Islamiyah Forum, the Prosperous Justice Party, the Hizbut Tahrir, the Indonesian Muslim Students Committee, the Muhammadiyah and the Nahdlatul Ulama, rallied at a main intersection in the center of the city to protest the invasion.
"We call on people not to consume Coca Cola, McDonald and Kentucky Fried Chicken products because they have been proven to have contributed to the US agression on Iraq," Ukhuwah Islamiyah Forum Chairman Ahmad Mursidy told the rally according to the Detikcom online news service.
The protestors' posters bore slogans such as "The United Nations is a puppet of the United States", "People reject US terrorism", "The United States is the real terrorist" and "Boycott all US products".
The protestors also called on Muslims to continue to pray for the Iraqi people and urged the government to severe diplomatic ties with Washington.
Indonesia, a strong critic of the war, has seen almost daily protests.
The government of the world's largest Muslim-populated nation is now pressing for a key United Nations role in the new administration following the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime.
