US war toll: 126 dead, 554 wounded
WASHINGTON (AFP) Apr 18, 2003
A total of 126 US military personnel have been killed in the war in Iraq and 554 have been injured, the Pentagon said Thursday in an updated toll.

Of the 126 dead, 109 were killed in combat or "friendly fire" incidents, and 17 in accidents, said Pentagon spokeswoman Meghan Cox.

In addition to the 495 wounded, 59 others were injured in accidents.

Three service personnel are still listed as missing, a provisional category for soldiers not known to have been either killed or taken prisoner.
