Turkish police detain 26 students in anti-war demo
ANKARA (AFP) Apr 17, 2003 Turkish security forces Thursday detained 26 university students protesting the war in Iraq after scuffles left several protestors and officers injured, Anatolia news agency reported.
Students attempted to stage a sit-in protest against the US-led war at a campus in the western city of Bursa despite warnings by paramilitary police they did not have permission.
