Six Russian navy ships head through Suez Canal to Red Sea
PORT SAID, Egypt (AFP) Apr 16, 2003
Six ships of the Russian navy passed through the Suez Canal Wednesday, heading for the Red Sea, an Egyptian port authority said.

Two of them were the guided-missile cruiser Moskva of the Black Sea fleet and the tanker Ivan Bubnov. The others were not identified, and their final destination was not specified.

The Suez Canal has seen the passage of dozens of US and British warships and transports in recent weeks, heading for the Iraq war theatre.
