Turkish Airlines resumes domestic flights disrupted by Iraq war
ISTANBUL (AFP) Apr 16, 2003
Turkish Airlines (THY) said Wednesday it was resuming domestic flights to three southeastern provinces to which it stopped flying three weeks ago because of the war in neighbouring Iraq.

Flights to Gaziantep, Sanliurfa and Mardin will resume gradually, starting on Friday, the THY said in a statement carried by Anatolia news agency.

The three provinces, situated along Turkey's border with Syria, were in an air corridor used by US planes and missiles fired into northern Iraq.

THY also cancelled flights to Bahrain and Kuwait because of the war in Iraq.
