Philippine military helicopter crashlands while fighting forest fire
MANILA (AFP) Apr 16, 2003
A Philippine military helicopter crashed on Wednesday while it was fighting a forest fire outside Manila, but all four people aboard survived.

The Bell 205 helicopter was using a huge water container to quell a forest fire near Dolores town, 75 kilometers (46.5 miles) east of Manila when it was hit by strong winds, causing a partial power failure, the airforce said in a statement.

As the pilot was maneuvering to execute an emergency landing, the chopper's tail hit a tree and it crashed, the military said.

One of the four people aboard sustained bruises, the military said.
