Pentagon seeking troops for Iraq from other countries
WASHINGTON (AFP) Apr 15, 2003
The Pentagon actively seeking countries willing to provide troops to help stabilize Iraq, US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Tuesday.

The mix of US forces remaining in the country will depend in part on US success in involving troops from other countries, he said.

"We also want a very active effort to attract and encourage other countries to offer forces for the phase four stabilization process," he said.

He said that effort was being coordinated by the US Central Command through foreign liaison officers assigned to the command.
