Coalition forces shut down pipeline to Syria: Rumsfeld
WASHINGTON (AFP) Apr 15, 2003 Coalition forces have shut down an oil pipeline between Iraq and Syria, US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Tuesday.
"We do know that they have been instructed to shut it down, and they have told us that they have," he said.
The pipleine was allegedly used to supply oil in volume to Syria in violation of UN sanctions.
