British embassy in Jordan resumes public services
AMMAN (AFP) Apr 14, 2003
The British embassy in Jordan announced Monday that it was preparing to resume services to the general public, suspended when war broke out in neighboring Iraq last month.

"The embassy has resumed its activities with the return of Jordanian members of staff and it will begin to accept visa applications at the beginning of next week," an embassy employee told AFP.

Since the suspension of services, visas have been processed in Cairo.

The embassy never actually shut down, but has been operating with a skeleton staff, after all non-essential personnel were pulled out of the country and the Jordanian employees told to stay home.
