Argentine journalist killed in road accident outside Baghdad

 An Argentine journalist, Mario Podesta, was killed Monday in a traffic accident on the Amman-Baghdad highway, some 50 kilometres (31 miles) outside the Iraqi capital, witnesses told AFP.

The freelance journalist was traveling in a convoy with other vehicles when his car ran off the road for reasons that are still unknown.

The driver of the car and another passenger were seriously injured in the accident and taken to a military hospital.

A fourth occupant of the vehicle suffered a broken arm and a contusion to the head, the witnesses said.
