General Tommy Franks could go to Baghdad this week
WASHINGTON (AFP) Apr 13, 2003 The commander of US forces in Iraq, General Tommy Franks, said Sunday that he may go to Baghdad this week to visit US troops stationed there.
Asked about the possibility on Fox News television, Franks said: "That would be my guess ... I mean I may just go there with a small staff for the purpose of seeing my people."
He envisaged a low-key visit, and not a "parade," he added.
