Two rescued prisoners reported with gunshot wounds, but all seven in good shape: Rumsfeld
WASHINGTON (AFP) Apr 13, 2003
Two of seven American prisoners rescued near Saddam Hussein's stronghold of Tikrit in Iraq were reported to have gun shot wounds but all were "basically in good shape," US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Sunday.

"They are in good health. Two have gunshot wounds but basically they are good shape," Rumsfeld said in an interview with NBC television.

Rumsfeld said US marines were approached by Iraqis south of Tikrit and told where the Americans were.

"The families of these seven are in the process of being notified," he said.
