Warsaw asks Iraqi ambassador to explain status of his mission
WARSAW (AFP) Apr 12, 2003
The Polish foreign affairs ministry on Saturday asked the Iraqi ambassador to Warsaw to clarify the status of his diplomatic mission following the fall of President Saddam Hussein in Baghdad, a ministry spokesman said.

"The ambassador (Faisal Bandar Hussein) was summoned on Saturday and asked to explain the status of his mission in Poland as well as that of the staff of the Iraqi embassy in Warsaw," said spokesman Boguslaw Majewsky.

"The Iraqi ambassador said he would communicate his answer to us in the coming days," the spokesman said.

The Iraqi embassy in Warsaw has eight accredited staff members, registered with the Polish ministry of foreign affairs.
