Kurdish fighters moving out of Kirkuk: Turkey
ANKARA (AFP) Apr 11, 2003
Kurdish fighters who captured the oil-rich city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq on Thursday have started to move out of the town, Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said Friday.

"The elements that had entered Kirkuk started to leave today," Gul told reporters.

Kurdish militia who poured into the other oil center in the region, Mosul, on Friday morning will also withdraw "in the shortest possible time," Gul said, speaking of "guarantees" he had been given by the United States.
