Mubarak urges UN intervention to stop chaos in Iraq
CAIRO (AFP) Apr 11, 2003
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak urged Friday the United Nations to intervene to stop widespread chaos and looting in Iraq, the official MENA news agency reported.

In a telephone conversation with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Mubarak "stressed the importance of a UN role in protecting the life and property of the Iraqi people," MENA said.

He also urged for the swift establishment of an Iraqi government.
