AS-SALIYAH, Qatar (AFP) Apr 11, 2003 The northern Iraqi cities of Mosul and Kirkuk have fallen and have been entered by US special forces, a US military spokeswoman said Friday at the war command headquarters in Qatar.
"Mosul and Kirkuk have fallen," Major Rumi Nielson-Green told AFP at the Central Command base.
"Coalition forces are inside the cities," she said, adding "they are mostly special operations forces."
