US says it fired single tank round at media hotel

 A US tank fired a single round Tuesday at a Baghdad hotel where five journalists, were wounded, a US commander said.

General Buford Blount, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division said: "The tank was receiving fire from the hotel, RPG (rocket-propelled grenade) and small-arms fire, and engaged with one tank round. The firing stopped."

A Spanish cameraman and four staff of the British news agency Reuters were wounded Tuesday in firing at the Palestine Hotel, AFP correspondents said.
