Polish journalists escape after arrest in southern Iraq
WARSAW (AFP) Apr 08, 2003 Two Polish journalists, arrested by Iraqi forces on Monday in southern Iraq, have escaped, Polish private television channel TVN24 said on Tuesday.
Marcin Firlej of TVN24 and Jacek Kaczmarkk, from Polish public radio, "managed to escape during fighting in Nadjafin," TVN24 said.
"Marcin managed to call his wife to say that both of them... were safe," TVN24 said.
