BAGHDAD (AFP) Apr 08, 2003 Two US Abrams tanks rolled out of the northern entrance of Saddam Husssein's main palace in central Baghdad on Tuesday and took up position on the Al-Jumhuriya bridge, an AFP correspondent reported.
US warplanes attacked Saddam's Republican Palace, which lies on the banks of the Tigris river, as fierce fighting raged inside the vast complex which US forces blasted their way into on Monday.
