HONG KONG (AFP) Apr 08, 2003 An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale struck the seas near northern Luzon in the Philippines early Tuesday, the Hong Kong Observatory reported.
The quake, with its epicentre determined to be about 480 kilometresmiles) north of Manila, hit at 1:45 am (1745 GMT Monday), the observatory said.
