Another Indian MiG aircraft crashes, five injured

An Indian Airforce Mig-21 aircraft crashed Monday shortly after take-off in the northern state of Haryana, injuring at least five people on the ground, the United News of India news agency reported.

The aircraft crashed into a residential area of Ambala city, the agency said adding that the pilot ejected safely. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

The injured included two children and three women. A house and some vehicles were also damaged, the agency said.

The accident is the second involving an Indian Airforce MiG aircraft in four days.

On Friday, a MiG-23 aircraft caught fire and crashed into houses in the northern state of Punjab, killing at least five civilians on the ground.
