Four Americans were killed and a much larger number of Kurdish fighters were killed or wounded in the incident in Dibaga, 20 kilometers (13 miles) south of Arbil, the sources told AFP.

Hoshyar Zebari, a senior official of the Kurdistan Democratic Partywhich controls this main Kurdish town, put the number of Kurdish casualties at 12 dead and 44 wounded, including Wajih Barzani, brother of KDP chief Massoud Barzani, who he said was in intensive care.
