US war dead put at 80: Pentagon

The US casualty toll in the Iraq war rose to 80 dead Sunday as the name of a Marine killed in action last week was added to the list of confirmed dead, the Pentagon said.

The death toll included 66 killed by hostile fire and 14 in war-related accidents, said Lieutenant Colonel Cynthia Colin, a Pentagon spokeswoman.

The tally of wounded was 154, she said.

Eight military personnel were missing and seven were prisoners of war.
