Iraqi military no longer exists as organized combat force: US commander
WASHINGTON (AFP) Apr 05, 2003
The Iraqi military no longer exists as a force capable of bringing corps or division-size combat forces to bear on US-led troops, the commander of the US-led air campaign against Iraq said Saturday.

"The Iraqi military as an organized defense in large combat formations doesn't really exist anymore," Lieutenant General T. Michael Moseley said in a telephone press conference with Pentagon reporters.

"The equipment is there and some of the people are there, but as far as corps and division strength, bringing to bear that combat power on the coalition, it's not the same as it was a couple of weeks ago," he said from his headquarters in Saudi Arabia.
