French imam calls faithful to boycott US goods
NIMES, France (AFP) Apr 04, 2003
The imam of a mosque in southern France on Friday called on faithful Muslims to boycott American goods as a protest against the war in Iraq.

"Don't buy American products. If you save a euro, you save the life of an Iraqi," Mohamed Khattabi told around 1,000 worshippers at Friday prayers in Nimes.

"American strength comes from its economic strength. It is to save the dollar and their economy that the Americans attack our Iraqi brothers," he said.
