"They (UN) are going to try to do their best to create obstacles and to look that this experience will not succeed," Bakhtiar Amin, head of the International Alliance for Justice (AIJ) told journalists after meeting the province's Prime Minister, Bajram Rexhepi.
"We are bitter as Iraqi people about the position of the UN ... because of their indifference and because they turned a blind eye to our suffering.
"I don't want as a person to see my country ruled by the UN," said Amin in the provincial capital, Pristina.
Amin's two-day visit was sponspored by Washington as part of a tour of European cities to highlight human rights issues in Iraq.
The AIJ coordinates a network of 275 international NGOs from more than 120 countries which have called for the establishment of an international ad-hoc tribunal to try the Iraqi leadership for crimes against humanity, crimes of war and genocide.
Amin called for "justice to be brought to Saddam Hussein and his henchmen."
"We just hope to regain very soon our freedom, our country, and we will show to the world what Saddam has done," Amin said.
Kosovo has been administered by the United Nations since the 1999 air war by NATO ended Belgrade's rule of the majority Kosovo Albanians in the province.
The Kosovo model of the UN mission here (UNMIK) could be considered one option for the future administration of Iraq if Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is toppled.
France and other European countries are pushing for a central role for the UN in post-war Iraq, but the United States has so far been non-committal over what extent it is willing to relinquish control of a postwar Iraq.
Kosovo's government has come in support of the US-led coalition to oust Saddam from power.
"After meeting Dr. Amin I have been reassured of our commitment to support the US and British action to free Iraqis from this dictator," Rexhepi said.
Kosovo has a government and parliament, but major decisions are made by UNMIK and the UN Security Council is the sole arbiter of the province's future status.
