Mubarak, Abdullah accuse Israel of stepping up violence against Palestinians
CAIRO (AFP) Apr 03, 2003
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordanian King Abdullah II on Thursday accused Israel of exploiting the war in Iraq to step up violence against the Palestinians, the official MENA news agency reported.

The two leaders stressed during a telephone discussion "the need to step up joint efforts in order to stop Israel's exploitation of the war to perpetrate more violence and terror against the Palestinian people," MENA said.

The two also discussed the situation in Iraq, according to the agency.

More than 100 Palestinians, including 26 children, were killed in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in March by the Israeli army, the Palestinian health ministry said in a report released Wednesday.
