"Each person should give serious consideration to the option of leaving Lebanon until the situation stabilizes," said an embassy statement.
"Daily demonstrations in Lebanon against the war in Iraq reflect increased anti-American sentiment and heightened anger against US policy in the region," it added.
The communique listed a number of recent incidents which it described as a "warning of an increasingly anti-US environment in which the welfare of American citizens and interests in Lebanon are at greater risk."
On March 29, a man with explosives strapped to his body took hostages inside a Beirut branch of the British-based bank HSBC before giving himself up to police.
He told the police he did it "for Iraq and Palestine".
Daily demonstrations have been staged across the Arab world to protest the US-British attack on Iraq since it was launched on March 20.
