Wives, children of Uday aides killed by coalition bombing: relatives
BAGHDAD (AFP) Apr 03, 2003
The wives and children of close aides to President Saddam Hussein's elder son Uday were killed by US-British missiles on a farm north of Baghdad, relatives said Thursday.

Two missiles on Wednesday slammed into a farm in Ishaqi, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) north of Baghdad, killing the two families, they said.

Uday's two aides were not at the farm at the time of the bombings.

The two men are Acyl Tabra, first vice-president of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee chaired by Uday, and Bashar Hisham, another member of the board, the relatives said.

The two men were receiving condolences at a central Baghdad mosque on Thursday.

On Monday, Saddam Hussein chaired a meeting of top aides including Uday, who was making his first televised appearance since the United States and Britain launched the onslaught to topple the Iraqi strongman's regime on March

US-British strikes have targetted key Saddam sites in Baghdad as well as the headquarters of Uday's sports committee.

Uday also heads the Fedayeen Saddam paramilitary militia which is leading fierce battles against US-British advancing forces.
