Taiwan's Evergreen Marine to hike US-bound prices by 700-900 dollars
TAIPEI (AFP) Apr 03, 2003
Taiwan's Evergreen Marine Corp. announced Thursday that it will raise by 700-900 US dollars its transportation charges for each US-bound 40-foot container departing from Asian ports in reflection of brisk demand.

Effective May 1, the price for each 40-foot container to the US West Coast will rise by 700 US dollars, while that to the East Coast will go up by 900 dollars, a company official said.

"The price hikes are due to a supply shortfall as demand growth is surpassing supply growth," the official added.
