ADDIS ABABA (AFP) Apr 02, 2003
Ethiopian Airways announced Wednesday it was cutting the number of its flights to Europe because of the war in Iraq.

"Because of the war in Iraq, the number of passengers between Europe and Africa is falling considerably (so) from March 31 Ethiopian Airlines temporarily reduced its flights to Frankfurt (from four to three a week), Copenhagen and Amsterdam (from two to one flight each)," the carrier said in a statement.

On March 20, Ethiopian Airlines suspended its flights to Tel Aviv.

Ethiopia is only one of two African countries -- the other is Eritrea -- that Washington condsiders part of a "coalition of the willing" in the war against Iraq.
