Spain's Iberia to reduce capacity in April by five percent
MADRID (AFP) Apr 02, 2003
Hit by falling demand because of the war against Iraq, Spanish national carrier Iberia late Tuesday said it would reduce European and domestic capacity by 5.2 percent in April, the second time in a month it has taken such a measure.

Iberia, which in March already reduced capacity by four percent, said it was not cancelling or suspending any flights but would merely use smaller planes on certain routes.

The measure only affects flights within Spain and Europe, not its trans-Atlantic routes which have been less affected by falling demand brought on by the Iraq war.
