Moderate quake shakes central Japan

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale shook central Japan Tuesday, the Meteorological Agency said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

The center of the quake, which struck at 9:25 am (0025 GMT), was located in Nagano, 150 kilometers (93 miles) west of Tokyo, the agency said.

Its focus was 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) underground, it said, adding no tidal wave warning had been issued.
