The event is taking place this week in Sacramento, the state capital, and Northrop Grumman's vice president of global logistics and operational support, James Zortman, will be speaking about the impact on Tuesday, March 24.

Northrop Grumman says some of its advanced manned, unmanned, space and missile systems are built in California, where it has more than 25,000 employees and a payroll of $2.5 billion. More than $1.8 billion spent is spent with more than 4,000 California suppliers; the company contributes more than $5.2 million to California charities; and $1.8 billion in education partnerships with 23 California universities.

"Northrop Grumman's recent notable manufacturing efforts include building the world's largest aircraft with a 385-foot wingspan in Mojave (Calif.) and developing the world's fastest integrated circuit that operates at 1 trillion cycles per second at its advanced microelectronics foundry in Manhattan Beach."

California Aerospace Week is co-hosted by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Aerospace States Association.
