San Diego - Apr 1, 2002
AEM Inc. announces that it has successfully completed qualification testing of the 1st product in its new High Reliability Ferrite Chip Bead Line.

This U.S.-produced HRB Series is the world's first ferrite chip bead designed and tested specifically to meet Space, Military and Medical requirements. Ferrite beads are used for electronic noise suppression. Chip-size beads are designed for Surface Mount, micro-miniature applications.

HRB Series Ferrite Chip Beads will pass Qualification Inspections common to QPL (Defense Supply Center's Qualified Products List) products. AEM is the sole producer of FM12 solid-body fuses meeting MIL-PRF-23419/12 requirements. The FM12 fuses have been universally used in major satellite programs.

The 1st product is a 0805 size 25 OMEGA, 4.0 amp ferrite chip bead. This device is now available for immediate purchase. Other values will be offered as they complete qualification testing. Standard EIA 1206, 0805 and 0603 sizes will be available. Space applications mandated Tin/Lead terminations is standard, while gold is an option. All HRB Series Ferrite Chip Beads are supplied with Group A and B test data.

The AEM HRB Ferrite Chip Bead Line will take the risk out of using 'penny-cost' commercial components, which pose disproportional risks to million-dollar satellites and similar fail-safe priority military and medical applications.

AEM Inc. is a manufacturer of high-reliability solid body micro-fuses for the Space industry and the first/largest manufacturer of multi-layer ceramic inductors in the United States. AEM Inc. is a three-time INC. 500 winner, ranking the company among "America's Fastest Growing Private Company."
