Bethesda - Oct. 18, 2000
SkyBridge LP and Qualcomm Incorporated announced Tuesday that Qualcomm has become a SkyBridge shareholder and limited partner.

"We are delighted to welcome Qualcomm to the SkyBridge partnership," said Pascale Sourisse, SkyBridge President and CEO. "SkyBridge will now have access to important Qualcomm Intellectual Property and can benefit from the company's satellite telecommunications experience.

SkyBridge's industrial partners will be able to enter into licenses with Qualcomm for its Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology for use in both user terminals and gateways. SkyBridge will provide telecom operators and service providers with broadband access capacity, enabling them to offer high-speed, highly interactive multimedia services to business and residential users anywhere in the world via a constellation of 80 low earth orbiting satellites.
