Titan Wins SatCom Options
 illustration only San Diego - October 20, 1998 - The Titan Corporation announced Monday two additional production option awards to its ongoing U.S. Navy contract for Mini-DAMA UHF satellite communication terminals. Total value of the two awards is $4.5 million over the next twelve months.

The terminal versions included in these options are intended for use on aircraft and surface/subsurface vessels, respectively. They will be produced by The Titan Corporation's wholly-owned subsidiary, Linkabit Wireless, Inc., in San Diego, Calif.

Commenting on this announcement, Titan's President and Chief Executive Officer, Gene W. Ray stated, "These orders permit continued integration of Mini-DAMA satellite communication terminals in the U.S. Navy's E-2C Airborne Early Warning aircraft, submarines and surface combatant ships. They represent a continuing indication of the important role and contribution made by Mini-DAMA terminals in providing beyond-line-of-sight communications between widely-dispersed aircraft and battle groups." Dr. Ray went on to say that, "we are extremely pleased to know that our Mini-DAMA terminals are supporting critical, operational communications all around the globe."
