Russia launched a new military satellite on Friday from the Baikonur space centre in Kazakhstan, the latest addition to a network of about 60 similar Russian devices orbiting the planet, Russian space authorities said. "The rocket Soyuz-Y left Baikonur at 1:50 pm (0950 GMT) and the satellite was placed into orbit at 1:59 pm," Alexei Kuznetsov, spokesman for the Russian space agency, was quoted as saying by Russian news agency Itar-Tass.
