StarBand Connects With Ariza For Broadband Services Throughout Canada

McLean VA (SPX) Sep 28, 2004
StarBand, America's first high-speed, two-way satellite Internet provider to residential and SOHO customers, today announced a distribution partnership with Ariza Technology, a consumer electronics wholesaler and distributor in Canada.

Ariza Technology has operations spanning both coasts of Canada and the United States. Ariza distributes audio and video consumer electronics products that provide high-quality and cost-effective satellite, security and consumer electronic solutions for its diverse base of customers in Canada, the US, and abroad.

"The StarBand service available through Ariza Technology provides more choice to the Canadian consumer, and overall benefits the Canadian telecom industry," states Arun Sabnis, Ariza Director of Technology.

"Ariza Technology has a proven track record of being an innovator and leader in the Canadian distribution industry; this alliance with StarBand is reflective of Ariza's endeavors to bring the latest and best value consumer electronic products to its customers."

Ariza will distribute StarBand's entire family of high-speed Internet services to their Canadian customers including the StarBand 360 residential service and recently introduced StarBand 481 Residential, StarBand 481 Telecommuter, and StarBand 484 (offering the satellite industry's best value and fastest SOHO service speeds with upload of up to 256 Kbps and downloads of 1 Mbps).

"We've waited on expanding our service footprint into Canada until we found the right in-country distribution partners," said StarBand Marketing Vice President, Howard Lossing. "Ariza, with locations throughout Canada and a robust network of satellite-savvy dealers, is a great partner for StarBand in Canada."

By leveraging over four years of experience in providing satellite Internet products and services, StarBand has accelerated its pace of expansion and new service introduction. The expansion of StarBand's high-speed Internet services into Canada follows the recent introduction into Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Haiti, and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Additionally, StarBand recently launched new products and services for underserved emerging markets. The StarBand turnkey WiFi Hotspot package brings wireless high-speed Internet service to campgrounds, truck stops, marinas, and other locations with patrons seeking Internet access in regions not supported by DSL.

Also, StarBand's highly reliable self-pointing mobile solution helps RVers, and others with a need for transportable high-speed Internet service, to take StarBand on the road with them wherever they go.
