NGC Appoints Art Lofton Sector Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Northrop Grumman Corporation has named Art Lofton vice president and chief information officer for the company's Integrated Systems sector.

In this position, Lofton is responsible for establishing the strategic direction and leadership of all information-systems and information-technology activities in the Integrated Systems sector.

"With more than 23 years of industry experience, I am confident that Art will help successfully navigate Northrop Grumman through the intricacies of effective IT management," said Scott Seymour, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems. "His solid leadership, creativity and communications skills will assist in streamlining processes and services in key areas of our business."

Lofton most recently served as deputy program manager of long range strike for Integrated Systems. He has held other positions of increasing responsibility within Integrated Systems, including director of rapid development and production processes, and director of strategic planning.

Before joining Northrop Grumman in 1990, Lofton served in engineering roles for Williams International, Walled Lake, Mich., and the General Motors Technical Center, Warren, Mich. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with emphasis on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.

Raytheon has named retired Air Force Lt Gen. Thomas B. Goslin Jr. Director of Program Operations for the company's Space Systems business unit in Aurora, Colo.
