CORRECTED: Taiwan's TSMC posts 9% profit rise in Q1

Taiwanese semiconductor giant TSMC on Thursday reported a 9 percent increase in profits in the first quarter of 2024, bringing in a net income of NT$225.4 billion ($6.97 billion) for the first three months of the year.

Last year in the same period, TSMC posted NT$206.9 billion in net profits, according to financial reports released before its Q1 earnings call.
