The Russian space resupply vessel Progress docked Saturday with the orbiting International Space Station (ISS), bringing fresh food, water, fuel and family letters to the two crew members, ITAR-TASS news agency said.

The docking occurred at 0501 GMT and took place without incident, the report said.

All resupply and crew transport links between earth and the ISS currently depend solely on Russia as the US space shuttle fleet has been grounded since the disintegration on reentry of the shuttle Columbia in February 2003.

US astronaut Michael Finke and Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalk have been orbiting aboard the ISS since April 21 and are due to remain in space until October.
