Russian Progress cargo ship docks with ISS
MOSCOW (AFP) May 27, 2004
A Progress cargo ship carrying supplies for the International Space Station (ISS) successfully docked with the orbiter station Thursday, two days after blasting off from the cosmodrome in Kazhakstan, Russian mission control said.

The unmanned Progress M-49 vessel is carrying more than two and a half tonnes of supplies, mainly water, food and fuel, a spokeswoman for the flight control centre outside Moscow, told AFP.

The space ship blasted off on Tuesday at 1234 GMT and entered orbit on schedule.

A two-man crew, US astronaut Michael Fincke and Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka, began a six-month mission on the ISS on April 21.
