Russian Progress supply vessel to be launched on June 8
MOSCOW (AFP) May 07, 2003
Russia will launch a Progress cargo vessel to the International Space Station (ISS) on June 8 from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, the Russian space agency Rosaviakosmos announced Wednesday.

The craft will deliver food for the two-man crew on the ISS, fuel and equipment for scientific experiments, space agency spokesman Sergei Gorbunov was quoted as saying by the ITAR-TASS news agency.

Since the Columbia disaster on February 1, when seven crew members died after the shuttle disintegrated on re-entry, Russia has provided the only transport to the 16-nation orbiting space station.
