Bangladesh air force helicopter crashes, kills four: official
DHAKA (AFP) Oct 19, 2002
An Air Force helicopter on a training flight crashed Saturday in southeastern Bangladesh killing all four people on board, defence ministry officials said here.

The Soviet-made MI-17 chopper, which took off from its base in the port city of Chittagong, went down about 4.30 pm (1030 GMT) in Ukhiya, some 300 kilometers (188 miles) from Dhaka, near the Myanmar border, a defence official said.

He said an investigation had been ordered into the crash but could not give any other details.

A media report said the crash occurred after the helicopter hit a local television tower.
