Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ESLT and TASE: ESLT) has been awarded a $53 million contract to provide Crossbow Unmanned Turreted 120mm Soft Recoil Mortar Systems to General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS). These systems will be mounted on the Pandur 6x6 APC wheeled armored vehicle for a European client. The project is scheduled for completion over a six-year span.

The deal signifies the first order for the Crossbow following its debut at the DSEI exhibition in London in 2023. The Crossbow system is designed to enhance crew protection and survivability, enabling a rapid response time from sensor to shooter in under 30 seconds. Capable of firing ten rounds per minute at its peak and maintaining a rate of six rounds per minute, the Crossbow can utilize a range of NATO 120mm ammunition, including the Iron Sting guided mortar munition. It boasts an effective range of up to 10 kilometers and provides a 360 degree operational capability without the need for index loading.

Yehuda (Udi) Vered, General Manager of Elbit Systems Land: "We are proud to receive the first order from a leading international costumer for our state-of-the-art Crossbow Unmanned Turreted Mortar System. The turreted mortar, with its precise guided round, reaffirms our commitment to developing and providing innovative and advanced land systems as solutions to the evolving needs of the modern battlefield."
