Related LinksMorpheus Space has announced a major update to its JOURNEY platform, aimed at enhancing the analysis of ground station contacts and target collections. The update benefits both individual satellites and entire constellations. The new Ground Station and Target Analytics feature offers extensive insights into mission performance, allowing users to track satellite visibility, data transmission, and coverage with greater accuracy. "The latest updates to JOURNEY are not just about enhancing technical capabilities - they're about driving real value for our users. By providing deeper insights into ground station and target data, we enable satellite operators to make better-informed decisions, which ultimately leads to reduced operational risks, cost savings, and improved mission performance. These advancements empower our customers to maximize the return on their missions, setting them up for success in increasingly complex environments," said Kevin Lausten, President of Morpheus Space. The enhanced analytics give users the ability to make data-driven decisions by evaluating ground station connection windows, communication gaps, and data transfer rates. This functionality helps operators refine mission strategies, ensuring the best possible performance. JOURNEY's new capabilities integrate seamlessly with Advanced Mission Design (AMD) and introduce new per-event metrics, breaking down each ground station contact and target collection event in detail. Users now have access to key information such as look angle, look direction, pass number, and data volume, helping to improve satellite visibility and data transmission analysis. Additionally, the update includes metrics for both individual assets and aggregate data across targets, ground stations, satellites, and constellations. Key analytics like total data volume, pass durations, gap times, and revisit rates are supplemented by statistical tools like histograms for pass durations and gap times, offering users deeper insight into mission performance trends. The main goal of this update is to help users understand and optimize ground station contacts and target collection metrics. These new tools give users easy access to the critical data needed to evaluate the performance of ground stations and satellite passes. Earlier this year, Morpheus Space also introduced Constellation Designer, another JOURNEY feature that enables users to plan and optimize satellite constellations. This tool balances mission constraints with performance metrics such as revisit rates and gap time efficiency, offering a range of geometric design options and multi-objective optimization for global and target coverage.
