Maxar Space Systems Secures Contract for New High-Power Communications Satellite

Maxar Space Systems, a leader in satellite manufacturing and advanced space solutions, has been awarded a contract to develop a geostationary (GEO) high-power communications satellite for a private commercial client.

The new satellite will be constructed on Maxar's proven 1300 platform at its state-of-the-art production facilities in Palo Alto and San Jose, California. Designed with a high-power, multi-spot beam payload, the satellite will enhance communications capabilities for the customer.

"The commercial GEO communication market remains an important focus for us," stated Chris Johnson, CEO of Maxar Space Systems. "We are committed to delivering quality solutions that add value for our customers, and this new order highlights our ability to provide scalable platforms for diverse mission needs."

Once deployed, the satellite will join an extensive fleet of Maxar-built spacecraft currently operating in orbit, furthering the company's legacy of delivering high-performance and reliable satellite solutions.
