Paris, Oct 1 (AFP) Oct 01, 2021
In exactly one month, world leaders will gather in Glasgow for historic talks billed as humanity's "last best chance to get runaway climate change under control".

In the run-up to the critical COP26 meeting, AFP will be publishing a series of stories about climate change every Monday and Tuesday from October 4-5, then every day in the week leading up to the start of the conference on November 1.

We will be publishing multimedia features from around the planet, showing the damage already caused by climate change, as well as efforts to cope with it. Florida, the Shetland Isles, Senegal, Guatemala, India and Cuba are only some of the places our teams will be reporting from.

AFP will be harnessing its broad global network to bring the story to life.

We will also provide in-depth data-driven explanatory pieces in text and graphics, digging into the main topics surrounding climate change: changes in agriculture to deal with food insecurity, decarbonising the economy, and boosting renewable energy.

We will also meet "climate refugees", victims of wildfires, storms and floods, whose lives have been turned upside down by climate change. Interviews and features will give a voice to young climate activists fearful for their future, specialists, and ancient cultures such as the Amazon Indians.

Finally, we will look into the issue of "tipping points", areas where a significant change could spark a dramatic impact on the global climate, with two special packages on the Arctic permafrost and the Amazon.

We will provide details of this multimedia content via special advisories which you can find under the headline "Countdown to COP26", from Monday, October 4.
