Georgia Tech Research Institute, Atlanta, Georgia, has been awarded a $7,857,568.00 contract, for combustion stability modeling and design tool development.

This contract provides for the development of a suite of software-based design tools for predicting and analyzing stability characteristics of combustion devices based on hydrocarbon-fueled,oxidizer-rich staged combustion rocket engine cycles.

The location of performance is Atlanta, Georgia. The work is expected to be complete by 27 April 2017. This award is the result of a sole source acquisition.

Fiscal Year 2015 Research, Development, Test and Evaluation funds in the amount of $3,928,784.00 are being obligated at the time of award.

Space and Missile Systems Center is the contracting activity (Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, California, Contract FA8814-15-C-0006).

The Government requires the Combustion Stability tool effort to begin immediately to meet critical mission requirements to meet the Fiscal Year 15 National Defense Authorization Act Joint Explanatory Statement goal of accelerating rocket propulsion system development with a target demonstration date of Fiscal Year 2019.
